Tyson was raised and served at Tri-City Baptist Church in Colorado. He served as a Deacon and led sports ministries between 2009-2013. He also coached basketball at his high school alma mater from 2007-2013. Tri-City Baptist Church hired Tyson to lead its college/career singles’ department in 2012. In addition, he served as the Executive Pastor assisting Pastor William J. Senn, III through 2013. During the past two years, Tyson has been serving as the Associate Pastor of Student Ministries with Pastor Ken Keltner at Brookside Baptist Church in Wisconsin.
While serving on the staffs of Tri-City Baptist Church and Brookside Baptist Church, Tyson has also served as the Director of Operations for Cross Impact Ministries since 2011. During this time he assisted our previous National Director, Dr. Steve Pettit. One year ago, it was announced that Dr. Steve Pettit would be the next President of Bob Jones University. This was a good fit for both the university and for the Pettits but left a big gap for Cross Impact to fill. Since then Cross Impact National has been in pursuit of a National Director.
Cross Impact Ministries has been looking for a man who loves the Lord and has a passion for “taking the cross of Christ to the campus.” Ideally, we were looking for someone who had both a secular and sacred educational experience, who would understand the culture of the secular campus as well as the culture of a biblically-based, local church. In addition, we were looking for someone who would have the administrative gifts to direct the organization, who would respect and work well with pastors and who would be an example and a mentor to collegians and singles. We believe we have found such a man in Tyson Schrecengost.
Tyson will begin on July 1, 2015 as Cross Impact’s National Director and will be based out of Tri-City Baptist Church in Westminster, Colorado. Please pray for Tyson and his family as he serves as our first full-time National Director for Cross Impact Ministries. Pray that he will be a great encouragement to local churches as Cross Impact Ministries seeks to assist the local church in revitalizing the college/career singles’ ministry and in evangelizing the secular campus. Please pray for Cross Impact as we take “the cross of Christ to the campus.”
William J. Senn, III
