2017 Winter Update
January 16, 2017
On behalf of all involved with Cross Impact Ministries, thank you very much for your interest, support and/or contribution to CIM this last year. We are extremely grateful for your partnership and support in the Gospel! 2016 was an amazing and revitalizing year for CIM. We continue to carryout our vision of revitalizing and reaching-out!
We thank you for your prayers for the 4th CIM National Leadership Training Conference that was held last April. This was our first national conference since 2014. We hosted the conference at Colonial Hills Baptist Church with Cross Impact IUPUI; we are truly grateful for their partnership in ministry. The conference was revitalizing as we had 6 new ministries and 6 current ministries represented from CO, GA, IA, IN, OH and SC. One takeaway from this National Training Conference was that moving forward we would like provide more opportunities for training. Therefore, we plan to host multiple regional conferences each year. We believe this will provide churches more flexibility for attending by both location and dates.
We had our first regional conference in October at Harvest Baptist Church with Winthrop CI. The Lord knew exactly who was to be there. Please pray for Pastor Brandon Allen as their church looks to reach-out to the campus of U. of South Carolina, Pastor Stacey Peek as their church meets on the campus of Furman University and they look to reach-out to that campus, and Pastor Heston Blake as their church is interested reaching-out to Davidson College in NC. Additionally, it was great to include ARCH Ministries in this conference. We share a common mission of making disciples and are looking forward to possible opportunities of church planting in college towns.
We also had the opportunity last month to meet with Pastors Treg Spicer and Lucas Vanderwarker of Faith Baptist Church in Morgantown, WV. For many years, their church has had a tremendous outreach to WVU. We are excited for the partnership that the Lord has created with Cross Impact and Faith Baptist Church as they reach-out to WVU. Additionally, pray for other ministries in WV that are interested in partnering with Cross Impact.
It was also encouraging this year to see Cross Impact IUPUI, Clemson CI and Winthrop CI join together at Spring Break for a missions trip to New York City with the New York Gospel Mission. NYGM is located in the heart of New York City and provided many opportunities of ministry for the group. The team was grateful for the opportunity to partner together in reaching-out and serving for the sake of the Gospel in NYC! It was also exciting to observe Clemson CI’s 26th annual International Day. This outreach event is geared to reach international students and was a huge success filling 10 international soccer teams. The gospel was presented to 100+ young people. It is awesome to see what the Lord continues to do with the multiple Cross Impact chapters and local church ministries!
We are grateful for the multiple contacts the Lord has brought this last year and we look forward to how He will continue guide and lead in 2017. Please continue to pray for the discipleship of the future of His church in these college/career young adults. Again, thank you for your continued prayers and support of Cross Impact Ministries.
