2016 Summer/Fall Update
August 22, 2016
On behalf of all involved with Cross Impact Ministries, thank you for your continued prayer and support of CIM. We are extremely grateful for your partnership and support in the Gospel! It is a busy and exciting time of the year as college semesters have begun!
It is wonderful to see the Lord continue to move CIM forward. It has been just over a year since the Lord led me to become the National Director for CIM. We continue to pursue our goal for 2016 to revitalize the National ministry.
The year has been very beneficial with the many contacts the Lord has provided. Last spring, I had the opportunity to attend the Gospel Proclaimed conference at Tri-City Baptist Church in Chandler, Arizona. In addition to networking with many, Will Senn (CIM Board President) and I had the opportunity to present local church discipleship and campus ministry to a group of pastors in a workshop session. We are beginning to see fruit from this conference. Pastor Aaron Love from Brown Street Baptist Church in Illinois was excited following the workshop and has asked that I present CIM to the church in upcoming months. The conference proved to be a blessing with multiple contacts and possibilities moving forward, especially in the Southwest.
Later, I attended the Camp Infinity College Camp at the Creation Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dan Wooster, CIM Board Member and Director of Camp Infinity, and I were able to connect and begin discussions on the possibilities and ways of partnering together. Creation Museum staff is very interested in possibilities of partnering with CIM to get opportunities to present truth on campuses across the nation. Additionally, a student from Michigan State attended this camp and is very interested at starting a CIM chapter through his church on the MSU campus. Through many of these contacts, we see the possibilities of adding multiple new chapters in the future.
As mentioned in our previous letter, our National Training Conference was a great success in Indiana. One thought coming from the conference is that instead of having only a single CIM Training Conference each year, we look to increase to 3 regional conferences moving forward. Please be praying for these upcoming conferences:
Southeast – October 24-26, 2017 – Winthrop CI, Rock Hill, SC
This will be a joint conference with ARCH Ministries
Midwest – April 5-7, 2017 – IUPUI CI, Indianapolis, IN
West – May/June 2017 – Colorado CI, Westminster, CO
A few other happenings, we have added Pastor Keith Lewis to our Executive Board. Keith has been involved with Cross Impact at Colonial Hills Baptist Church since 2012 and we are grateful for his willingness to join and serve in this way. Additionally, please be praying for upcoming trips to Illinois, South Carolina, North Carolina, Utah, West Virginia and Wyoming as we look forward to serving multiple local churches in different ways. Also, check out our new website when you have a chance (www.crossimpact.org).
Again, it is exciting to see the multiple contacts the Lord has brought the last few months and we look forward to how He will continue guide and lead. Please continue to pray for the discipleship of the future of His church in these college/career young adults. Thank you for your continued prayers and support of Cross Impact Ministries.
